President Uhuru Kenyatta is leading the NASA presidential flag bearer in the latest opinion poll administered by the Star newspaper with only six days remaining to the August 8 polls.
According to the poll which was conducted between July 25 to 31 across all the 47 counties, if elections were held today, Uhuru would garner 47% of the votes with Raila following closely at 46% while 7% remain undecided.
The poll which was released on Tuesday indicated that 63% of Kenyans would elect President Kenyatta based on his development record with 13% backing Raila.
The poll further indicated that Raila is leading Uhuru with support across 26 counties compared to Uhuru's 21.
In terms of regional support,Uhuru's Central region political turf is solidly behind him while Odinga's main support comes from his traditional Nyanza turf and former Western province.
In the race for Nairobi's over 2.5 million votes, Raila leads at 47% against Uhuru's 42%.
