Jessica Mbalu, who was among leaders from the region who pressurized the government to tarmac the road expressed her dissatisfaction in the tricks government in fooling the people of the region.

Mbalu further clarified that machinery that had been deployed during the launch was relocated to unknown destination, proof enough that Kitui – Makueni – Machakos people were being taken for a ride by the Jubilee government.

On the other hand, TIPTIP party leader Kalembe Ndile was quick to downplay the accusations in defense of the Jubilee administration  saying that he had been present during the signing of the contract in Treasury.
