President Uhuru Kenyatta presided over the historic lighting of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi. This was to usher-in the Christmas festive season.

Flanked by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala among other officials and stakeholders, he asked Kenyans to celebrate the festivities in unity.

"Let us celebrate this lighting of KICC, and then, let us resolve to keep that flame of unity alive in our hearts. Let us rekindle that spirit of unity,'' Uhuru said, Tuesday night.
