President Uhuru Kenyatta has registered mixed results in the controversial repeat presidential election that took place October 26.
The repeat elections went into controversy after NASA leader Raila Odinga pulled out on claims that some of the issues he had raised with the IEBC had not been addressed and that Jubilee had hatched a scheme to rig.
With the election going on and Raila leading snti-election demos in his strongholds, the president recorded a lower voter turn-out in his Gatundu South backyard.
Despite a massive mobilisation drive, about 10,000 registered voters did not show up to cast their ballots.
The trend was replicated in the rest of Kiambu county whose total numbers slightly went down in comparison to the August 8 General Election.
Of the 75,858 registered voters in Gatundu South, only 65,254 turned up on Thursday while over 67,000 voters had voted in August.
The president's most disappointing voter turnout area was however in Kikuyu constituency, where only 75.6 per cent of voters showed up compared to massive highs of 85 per cent in the rest of the county.
However, the president garnered more votes in Thika Town constituency than in the August 8 General Election.
In the final tally presented by Thika returning officer Geoffrey Gitobu Friday morning, Uhuru had garnered 99,517 votes of the 102,989 votes cast which translated to 98 per cent.
In August, he garnered 96,856 votes (83.7 per cent).
