Uhuru addressing traders outside the market Thursday. facebook/Uhuru KenyattaPresident Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday toured Nairobi’s busy Kenyatta market to inspect renovation works he ordered during campaigns in the run-up to the August 8 election.
Uhuru had ordered for the renovation of the market that mainly hosts informal businesses dominated by salons.
He was accompanied by Nairobi Governor-elect Mike Sonko during the visit that took close to two hours.
Sonko campaigned on the platform of transforming Small and Medium Enterprises in the city saying he will create an environment that supports business growth.
The former Embakasi MP defeated Evans Kidero to clinch victory for Nairobi’s top seat.
Uhuru promised traders operating in the market his administration will lay an elaborate plan that supports their investments.
