President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday minced no words, making shocking revelations about Nairobi County expenditure.
According to the head of state, the county uses about seven hundred million shillings to pay a cartel of wealthy people to clean the city yet the city was not clean.
''Every year, the county of Nairobi uses about seven hundred million shillings to pay some wealthy people to clean the city. Is this city? The city is littered all over, isn't it,'' President Uhuru asked the crowd.
The President was speaking on Saturday after attending a tree-planting function at the Moi Forces Academy in Eastleigh.
His words add more pressure to embattled Nairobi governor Mike Sonko who is in the spotlight over the deplorable state of the city.
In defence, Governor Sonko said that he could not take responsibility for the problems plaguing the city as he had inherited most of them from the Kidero administration.
