President Uhuru Kenyatta has succeeded in wooing two senior political strategists from Gusii region, who will be tasked to coordinate campaigns in the vote rich region.
Considered as swing region, Uhuru managed to beat Odinga in Nyamira County despite losing marginally in overall votes, due to Odinga’s impressive performance in Kisii County.
And Bomachoge – Borabu MP Prof Zadoc Ogutu along with Ex – South Mugirango lawmaker Omingo Magara are said to have been invited to the Presidential campaign secretariat.
While the President had met the two in Nakuru state lounge a fortnight ago, he is set to unveil them officially this Thursday when he tours Kisii.
While Omingo ran unsuccessfully for Kisii senatorial seat, Ogutu beat longtime Jubilee points man Joel Onyancha, who died last week.
ODM, through Prof Sam Ongeri, is said to have been in talks with the two leaders ahead of the repeat presidential elections.
Omingo’s PDP party managed to win a parliamentary seat in Kisii along with a host of MCA seats across the county.
