[Photo: PSCU]President Uhuru Kenyatta met the President of IAAF-U18 Youth Championships 2017, Sebastian Coe,Tuesday.The meting came a day to the event's kick off, Wednesday July 12, at the Safaricom Sports stadium, Kasarani, Nairobi. A total of 135 countries are attending the championships, comprising over 1,400 athletes and their managers."Nairobi will host over 5,000 visitors this week and Sh2.5 billion will be pumped into the economy," said Uhuru, during the meeting at State House.

Coe hailed the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and the Kenyan government putting efforts to hold the event.He toured the facilities to be used, including the stadium, media tribune and competitors’ area before leaving to pay a visit to Kenyan distance running legend Tegla Loroupe and her Refugee Athletes Team that made history at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

He also met First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.

The event will be streamed across 160 countries on the IAAF YouTube and Facebook channels.

It will also be covered live by South African pay television channel SuperSport and Kenya's local broadcaster Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).
