President Uhuru Kenyatta has met executives from specialised lender Africa50 Fund, focused on support for Kenya's infrastructure development.
The Morocco-based Africa50 Fund's shareholders are 25 African governments, two African central banks and the Africa Development Bank (AfDB).
It focuses on medium to large-scale infrastructure projects that have a significant development impact while offering an appropriate return to investors.
It was delegation was led by Chief Executive Officer Alain Ebobissé and included Chief Operating Officer Carole Wamuyu Wainaina.
The discussions focused on enablers for the president's Big Four of ensuring no Kenyan goes hungry, many more people have roofs over their heads, more jobs sparked by increased manufacturing and value addition, and affordable healthcare for all.
The agency is looking to invest in sectors key to achieving the Big Four, such as infrastructure, and power generation and transmission.The Fund is also exploring ways to participate in improvements of Kenyan airports, and especially the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The Fund also related its plans to host its annual meeting in Kenya in June. President Kenyatta welcomed the Fund's interest in investing in Kenya. He said Kenya was ready to partner with the Fund and private sector agencies in mobilizing resources in order to achieve its agenda of bringing development and prosperity to its citizens.
