President Uhuru Kenyatta has laughed off Wiper party leader’s criticism of the Jubilee government.

Speaking in Tharaka Nithi on Tuesday, the President said that the NASA running mate does not have the moral consent to fault government’s achievements in Meru for the four years Uhuru has been in power. He wondered why the former Vice President could not develop his neighboring county and only do little for his home county, Kitui.

"Kalonzo is your neighbour here and yet has nothing to show in the region, but he is daring enough to criticise us when in four years we have built the first tarmac road, a technical college and a university here," the President said.

The Head of State begged locals to give him second term in office so that they continue experiencing development. He promised to lead a caring government that will address citizens’ grievances across the nation.

"Jubilee is a caring government and we have proved it through the development we have implemented here and across the country," Uhuru said.

Uhuru was accompanied by his deputy William Ruto who urged locals to only vote for Jubilee party candidates. The two were on a vote-hunting mission in a region that overwhelmingly voted for them in 2013.
