President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence and encouragement to the family, relatives and friends of the Mzee Cornel Matini Mukobe.
The late Mzee Matini Mukobe was father to Special Programmes Principal Secretary Ms Josephta Oyiela Mukobe.
He described the deceased as a diligent man who led a life of service, aided by a strong character and independent mind.
''He was a person of enormous influence and outstanding ability who had a singular sense of duty to his family and the nation,'' Kenyatta said, Monday.
''Mzee Matini Mukobe lived his life well in the Lord and has left an indelible mark on the lives of all those who were privileged to know him,'' he added.
In a communication, State House said Mzee Mukobe will be remembered for the roles he played in Church and in community development where he served in various leadership positions.
