My sincere condolences and a quick recovery of those injured," Uhuru twitted, Monday. The president has also mourned the death of 250 people who lost their lives following a suicide bombing in Zobe District, Mogadishu, Somali on Saturday. The attack has been termed as the worst in the country to date.Uhuru joined other world leaders in mourning and condemning the attack.Below is his full condolence message he sent on Monday."I have learnt with the deepest shock & great sorrow of the loss of 250 lives following a horrific terror attack in Zobe District, Mogadishu. All Kenyans join me in conveying my deepest & heartfelt condolences following this horrendous attack on our brothers & sisters in Mogadishu. The calculated intensity of this beastly attack, obviously intended to cause the most harmful physical, psychological and emotional damage.Could only be aimed at one dastardly bigger goal – to strike fear and despondency in the hearts of the Somali people......thereby derailing them from the path of unity & progress which they have so gallantly chosen since your historic election in Feb 2017.
Since then, it has been clear that the terrorists have felt frightened and threatened by the new-found resolve of the Somali people to bury their political and clan differences and converge around the patriotic duty of re-building a stronger Somalia. We pray that the Almighty Allah will grant the bereaved families & the people of Somalia the strength & courage to overcome this great loss.We also pray for the quick recovery of the injured.I wish to reassure Your Excellency, Kenya shall stand shoulder-to-shoulder with your Govt & people of Somalia in the fight against terrorismIncluding identifying and shutting off the evil taps of terror financing, that continue to fuel this scourge in our midst.I am confident that, together, we shall overcome these negative forces and defeat their wicked ideologies. While conveying to Your Excellency the deepest sympathy & solidarity of the people of Kenya during this difficult moment of distress and national grief, humbly Accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest and most distinguished consideration."
