President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday hosted close to 8,000 delegates from Narok County, as he seeks to consolidate the Maasai vote for the October 17 polls.

In a meeting that was attended by other top Jubilee leaders, the president assured the leaders, who were drawn from different areas of the county that they will be part of his government.

Speaking during the meeting, Narok Governor Samuel Ole Tunai assured the president that all leaders within the county will work towards ensuring that he (President Kenyatta) gets reelected.

“All those who won electoral seats both at county and national Assemblies have agreed to work together to ensure you win the seat,” the Narok Governor assured President Kenyatta.

“We are determined to make sure you get over 90 per cent of the Narok votes,” Governor Tunai added.

Leaders who spoke also thanked President Kenyatta for initiating different projects in the county, and promised to rally locals on the ground to vote for him.

Those present during the meeting included MPs Soipan Tuya (Women Rep), Korei Lemein (Narok South), Lemanken Aramat (Narok East) and Gabriel Ole Tongoyo among others.

Narok is not considered as a stronghold for both camps; Jubilee and Nasa, with both parties moving to grab a share of the region’s vote.
