Opposition leader Raila Odinga has accepted a report by the joint select committee on IEBC.
Raila received the report on Wednesday and said although most of Opposition’s demands were not met, they ‘can live with what was achieved by the team’.
“It was give and take … we have conceded many issues we were insisting on for the sake of this country,” he said.
The report stated commissioners will leave office by end of September.
The Cord co-pricncipal however said President Uhuru Kenyatta must consult him in appointing new commissioners.
“I would not want the President to have a role in the selection of the new commissioners but I hope he will consult me (in the appointment),” Raila said.
This new demand by Raila might open a new battle between Jubilee and Cord should President Uhuru decide not to consult the Opposition leader.
