A Nakuru-based activist has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to work closely with other leaders in uniting the nation.
Speaking in a phone interview moments after the Supreme Court ruling that upheld Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory in the October 26 polls, Moses Gitonga from National Citizen Engagement Forum said that the nation is divided on political lines and President Kenyatta has the mandate to ensure no tribe feels left out in leadership.
While congratulating President Kenyatta, following the Supreme court ruling that upheld his victory, Gitonga said there is more to be done to unite Kenyans.
“I would like to congratulate him but also remind him that Kenya is divided and a time is now for him to call all stakeholders and talk on ways to unite the nation. I think the constitution we have needs amendments to solve some of the challenges we are facing,” said Gitonga
Gitonga said Kenyans should agree on rotational presidecy.
“We need to recognize the fact that this nation has got all the communities and therefore revolving presidency will help address some of the challenges we are facing,” he said.
