Jubilee has formally nominated President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto as the duo to face face NASA's Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka in the August general election.

The nomination was proposed by nominated MP and current Jubilee nominee for Kajiado woman representative Janet Taiya and seconded by Isiolo MCA nominee Abdi Mohamed,.

Kenyatta and Ruto then took pledges after the nomination and handing over of certificates and promised to uphold peace in the country.

"I hereby declare that as a presidential candidate, I will conduct campaigns peacefully, avoid talks that inflame tribal rifts and ensure decisions are not influenced by nepotism for the sake of public interest," Uhuru said during the Jubilee NDC at Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi.

The President dismissed the NASA Opposition as an unfocused outfit lacking a vision for Kenya and likened it to “a man who does not know how to solve problems but only knows how to talk about problems”.
