The president who was speaking during the Jamuhri day celebration on Monday at the Nyayo stadium said that despite the NYS program losing a lot of money there are many achievements to celebrate including employment to the youths.

"Dispite the NYS program having challenges it has delivered some clear and very tangible success for instance since 2013 the program has employed over 91,334 cohorts  spread over 81 constituencies across the country," he said.

The president also took the opportunity to send a warning to the beneficiaries of the lost NYS money saying all the involved will be brought to book.

"I would like Kenyans to draw a clear distinction between the positive of the NYS program and the deplorable miss management of funds orchestrated with individuals  who were determined to railroad its success," The President said.

"Please have comfort that all those involved in pilfering the resources year-marked for our youths will indeed be held to account," he added.
