President Uhuru Kenyatta has taken a swipe on his rival Raila Odinga, claiming that he is only good at ‘vitendawili’, a popular phrase the opposition leader uses in his rallies.
With the two preparing for another gruesome battle in August, both leaders are questioning each other over ability to lead the country.
And in Kisii on Tuesday, Uhuru questioned the ability of Odinga to lead the country adding that he failed to deliver while serving as Prime Minister.
“Do not be confused by this Vitendawili man. He is only good at insults and incitement not knowing that Kenyan politics have significantly changed,” said Kenyatta.
Kenyatta further said: “He was in government and has failed to deliver for a number of occasions. He should tell Kenyans what he can do that we haven’t done.”
Jubilee strategists have since earmarked Gusii region which is perceived to be an opposition stronghold as a possible tossup in August polls.
But the opposition brigade led by Odinga has often denied the claims and even declared the region a NASA zone when he visited a fortnight ago.
