President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are facing serious challenges over nominations to East African Legislative Assembly.
With Kenya yet to nominate the lawmakers, businesses in the assembly have been paralyzed for the past two months.
But the dilemma arises over the vote rich Gusii region which voted overwhelmingly for the duo at least if the results by IEBC are anything to go by.
“We delivered for Jubilee and we expect an appointment from the presidency. Nyamira and Kisii played a key role,” said Joash Nyamoko, North Mugirango MP.
For ODM, nominated MCA Carolyne Mogere says the party should consider the region: “We did our best and we delivered county seats. The party should consider us.”
Jubilee has many aspirants eyeing the seat with former CIC chairman Charles Nyachae, Doris Aburi, Charles Mochama, and Joseph Kiangoi being fronted.
ODM Treasurer Timothy Bosire is also said to have applied in the limited positions which puts Odinga at a precarious position.
