On Sunday, through the State House Spokes Man Manoah Esipisu, the Head of State indicated that the national government has been playing its role diligently to ensure the strike ends.

Uhuru revealed that the negotiation talks between Council of Governors and leaders of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union (KMPDU) were stretched throughout the weekend in order to beat the deadline for the progress report.

"The National government continues to play its role in offering mediation and advise between the doctor's and their employers," reads the statement in part.

"As has been the case throughout this process, the National Government will continue to support negotiations in every way possible," he adds.

"Officials of the Ministry of Health have also remained engaged throughout the process with the aim of adding value and support to the negotiations for speedy resolution and a return to work," the statement concluded.
