President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered that doctors be paid their salaries for the three months they were on strike.

Speaking Wednesday in Ndenderu, Kiambu County, the President warned that the doctors will be fired if they strike again, saying they cannot continue to endanger the lives of Kenyans despite taking the hypocritical oath.

"If they strike again, they will all go home. Not even a single doctor will go back to our hospitals because we already know what we will do," he said as quoted by the Standard.

"I was very angry with the doctors because you cannot let people die over money," he added.

Uhuru said his government will pay doctors under the national government and asked governors to do the same to medics under county governments.

Governors had earlier declared they would not pay the medics for the period they were on the streets demanding for better pay and working environment.

Mr Kenyatta was accompanied by his deputy William Ruto, who dismissed opposition coalition Nasa's plans to have a parallel results tallying centre for the August elections.
