Speaking when he presided over the groundbreaking ceremony of the proposed Thiririka Presbyterian office complex in Kiambu County on Sunday, the head of state assured that he will work tirelessly to preserve the development momentum that his government has overseen from divisive politicians whose main aim he said is empty rhetoric.

"Our main focus is to make Kenya a better place than we found it," he said.

The president at the same time asked Kenyans who are not yet registered as voters to do so, in order to exercise their democratic rights come 2017.

Uhuru was accompanied by area leaders among them William Kabogo (Kiambu governor), Kimani Wamatangi (senator), MPs Njoroge Baiya (Githunguri), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Alice Nganga (Thika Town) and Anna Nyokabi (Kiambu women representative).
