Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has confirmed that their planned rally for celebrating Madaraka day will go on as planned without any cancellation.
Muthama noted that Kenya belongs to 40 million people and each of them has a right to celebrate the day whether in Government or in opposition.
Muthama added that it was not the priviledge of any leader to dictate where and how Kenyans should celebrate adding that the President will be leading the country in Nakuru while the Cord fraternity will be in Uhuru park grounds on the same.
The Uhuru park meeting will be led by Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula. Muthama vowed that nobody will block them in their meeting as alleged by Police and CS Nkaissery.
The Senator added that they had stopped the Monday demos and agreed with churches to have talks with the government on the IEBC talks.
The senator also added that IEBC should go home as earlier planned by Cord. He added that Kenyans MPs have become so cheap and could be changed and bought by only Sh20,000 to support bills in parliament.
About the talks, the senator said that all the stakeholders including churches, leaders, business men, teachers among others should be involved in the talks to chart way forward for the Constitution says the power is vested on Kenya.
Muthama was speaking after paying a courtesy call, praying and consoling with the family of the late Rev Joseph Muange Githinji in Kathithyamaa, Kangundo.
Late Rev Githinji was a Preacher with ABC church and was aged 92 years.
