President Uhuru Kenyatta is scheduled this Tuesday to tour Kisumu, the political stronghold of NASA co-principal Raila Odinga.
Confirming the visit, State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu said the Head of State will be in the region for the on-going school drama festivals.
“He is attending the National Drama Festivals gala,” Mr Esipisu said.
Although Esipisu did not give more details of the visit, it is expected that President Kenyatta will be extending his mission in the Opposition stronghold to sell his manifest as the country flexes ahead of the August 8 elections.
He will also visit the neighbouring Vihiga COunty, the stronghold of Opposition NASA alliance co-leader Musalia Mudavadi.
“The President is reaching out to every corner of the country, not just Vihiga. It is important for him that he visits all counties, sees how government investments are impacting ordinary people,” Esipisu said.
