President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked Bungoma County Governor Wycliffe Wamangati to work with his government.
Uhuru, who is optimistic of being re-elected in the repeat presidential election, asked Wamangati to support Jubilee administration saying the people of Bungoma will benefit more being in government than in the Opposition.
Wamangati was elected on Ford Kenya party ticket- an outfit led by NASA co-principal Moses Wetang'ula.
His predecessor, Kenneth Lusaka, who was second, is now the newly elected speaker of the Senate.
Alfred Khang'ati, who vied on Raila's ODM and emerged a distant third, has already defected to Jubilee.
The President who was accompanied by DP William Ruto to a campaign rally in the Western county, told Wamangati to learn from Lusaka who was not abandoned by the government even after failing in his re-election bid.
"You know we do not leave anyone behind so that is why you see after he (Lusaka) lost we stood with him and supported his bid. Now the current Governor should work with us and deliver for the people," Uhuru said on Thursday as quoted by the Standard.
The Head of State thanked Bungoma residents for backing him in the bungled August 8 election and urged them to give him more votes in the poll due next month.
"I am grateful for the 30 per cent I got from you and humbly ask you turn out in large numbers to express your supreme will on October 17," Uhuru added.
