Speaking during the pass out parade of the 9,039 recruits on Thursday, President Uhuru Kenyatta who graced the occasion together with his deputy William Ruto, said the government will continue supporting the service.

Uhuru said his government will crack the whip on rogue elements enriching themselves at the expense of the future of the newly graduated recruits.

“No individual can steal Kenya’s future. Yet this will not stop some from trying. But the rogue elements who try to subvert the dreams of our youth, and the future of our country, will always be overcome by our resilience,” said the Head of State.

Ruto on his part said the government will increase the number of projects so as to create more employment opportunities.

The Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs according to CS Cecily Kariuki has reviewed NYS training programmes to cater for emerging challenges that youths face.

The ministry has further rationalised youth programmes and resources in a move to improve service delivery.
