This comes even as a section of Gusii leaders elected on the ODM ticket are making efforts to form a political party , a move that Mogeni links to President Uhuru.

Speaking to this writer on Wednesday, Mr Mogeni blamed Head of State for allegedly fueling discontent in the ODM party in what he termed as ‘divide and rule’ tactics.

“I am very disappointed in the manner at which the President is running the country. His leadership is worse than that of Moi. It’s politically incorrect to target the Opposition by fueling rebellions in a democratic country,” he said.

“I have enough information and I can say without fear of contradiction that he is using divide and rule tactics. He unfairly targets the Opposition MPs and lures them by promising them goodies yet he is supposed to develop all parts of the country without bias,” he added.

The renowned lawyer who is eyeing the Nyamira County senatorial seat, accused the government of marginalising other regions in development, and questioned the levels of corruption in the country.

“The corruption level right from National Youth Service to Eurobond is rampant and has escalates than Moi’s era. Development only taken to pro-government regions and the opposition areas ignored like many parts of Kisii. This kind of leadership takes Kenya years backwards and this is dictatorship,” he said.
