The head of state, who was speaking in Thika on Sunday, urged the electorate to turn out in large numbers to re-elect him. He also took a swipe at leaders aligned to NASA, accusing them of inciting the voters ahead of the August, adding that they will be in for a rude shock.
“The Opposition wants to incite Kenyans to violence but we shall give them proper medicine, which is you coming out to vote in large numbers,” President Kenyatta said, as quoted by Standard.
On his part, Ruto said that days of divisive politics are no longer existent.
“We are telling the Opposition that divisive politics has no place in this century,” Mr Ruto said.
In reference to Jubilee nominations, Uhuru said that he did not influence the exercise in any way, adding that he will work with the team he was presented with.
“You never saw me interfere with the nominations, and I said that I will work with the leaders that you will nominate,” the President added. The head of state has intensified his campaigns as he seeks to defend his position in August.
