President Uhuru Kenyatta and his main challenger Raila Odinga could suffer a major setback following wrangles in parliamentary leadership.

Elected leaders allied to NASA and Jubilee from Gusii region have expressed their dissatisfaction in the manner the community has been treated by either coalition with reports indicating that they are on the verge of forming a new political vehicle.

"We are tired with the treatment in NASA and as Gusii community, we are thinking of forming our own political party," said Richard Onyonka of Kitutu Chache South.

Last week, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko told the Star that leaders from Gusii held a meeting where formation of a political party was widely discussed.

While those in NASA are complaining of being shortchanged in parliamentary leadership, Jubilee legislators are not happy with the manner in which EALA nominees were arrived at.

"We had an MoU with the Deputy President William Ruto but none of Gusii resident was considered. This is outright discrimination," Nyamoko said.

A source privy to the Nairobi meeting that was chaired by Kisii senator Sam Ongeri intimates that formation of a new outfit is at an advanced stage.
