Odinga served as Roads Minister during Mwai Kibaki’s first term before being appointed Prime Minister in the Grand Coalition government where the President served as his Deputy.

In his latest attack on the opposition leader, Uhuru, who though did not make direct reference to Odinga, urged Western Kenya residents to elect a visionary team.

“Some people are making my work difficult by coming with all sorts of allegations yet they are non-performers,” said Uhuru in his first day tour to the Western region.

“They are fence-sitters and that was evident in the entire time they were in government. All they do is politics of hatred and incitement which I rarely engage in. Our country needs sober leaders like my team to move to another level,” he added.

Odinga has been critical of the Jubilee administration and has clashed with the president’s development agenda in several occasions since 2013 elections.
