An ODM official has termed the recent union between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga as meaningless, adding that it can never signify unity in the country.
Charles Ole Nampasa, the ODM Narok County Chairman on Thursday said if indeed the handshake the two leaders displayed outside Harambee House on March 9 was worth, then NASA's National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader Miguna Miguna would not be going through the troubles he is facing today.
"If that handshake has to stand the test of time, then no Kenyan should be mistreated," Nampasa said as he addressed the media in Narok town.
The government has faced sharp criticism over Miguna's tribulations especially after denying him entry into the country as ordered by the court.
Miguna is currently in Dubai after forcefully being deported to the Middle East country because of his failure to produce his passport when he returned to the country from Canada on Monday.
The vocal lawyer claimed he was drugged before being put on a plane that was destined to Dubai after being detained at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for two nights.
The Immigration department insists Miguna is not a Kenyan and is expected to apply for dual citizenship.
Miguna, however, maintains that he is a Kenyan born in Kisumu County and is in the possession of a Kenyan Identity Card.
