President Uhuru Kenyatta has dismissed calls for international mediation, saying the country is not in any crisis.
Speaking in Nyahururu on Sunday during his campaign tour, Kenyatta took a swipe at the opposition leader, Raila Odinga, whom he accused as being the cause of the country’s problems.
He said the opposition is not prepared for the October poll, which is why he (Odinga) wants to pull out.
“We do not want any white person to step in the country with the thought of governing us, we have said that if you are coming as a tourist, there are lots of attractions in the country, but leave local politics to the Kenyan people.
He insisted that there is nothing to solve, and the situation in the country has been caused by Odinga himself.
“The problems we have been caused by one man who goes by the name of Raila Odinga, who has refused to be a democrat, who has refused the will of the people, and has desire to take power through the back door by causing commotion and chaos,” he said.
He added: But Kenyans have said we are a nation that is governed by the rule of law, and the constitution which we will follow and constitute a government that Kenyans want,”
