Various leaders have sent condolence messages to relatives, friends and family of the late Kwale County senator Boy Juma Boy.
This is after the ODM lawmaker died, Sunday, at the Aga Khan University hospital, after a short illness.
President Uhuru Kenyatta said: ''In this hour of sorrow, I convey my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Senator Boy Juma Boy’s family, relatives and the people of Kwale. My thoughts and prayers are with you.'' Opposition and ODM party (Boy's party) leader Raila Odinga said: "I have learnt with great sadness of the passing of my friend and brother Senator Boy Juma Boy of Kwale County earlier today (Sunday).''
He noted Boy was not only a steadfast pillar in ODM party at the Coast but a committed and reliable champion for the rights of the downtrodden.
Raila termed him as a visionary leader and gifted orator.
"Boy's untimely passing will no doubt be felt across the nation. I take this opportunity to offer my deepest condolences to his family, friends and to the people of Kwale County. May God comfort you at this most trying of times. Inna Lillahi waina Ileyhi Rajiiun,'' he added.
The deceased became the youngest MP when he succeeded his father, Juma Boy, as Matuga MP in 1983.
The father died before the general election which would have seen him vie for Kwale Central MP, after serving Matuga since 1974.
Boy junior retained the Matuga seat in the 1988 and 1992 elections but lost in 1997 and 2002. He did not vie in 2007.
He was elected Kwale Senator in the March 4, 2013 general election, after garnering 60,886 votes against Chirau Mwakwere's 41,753.
Boy had been a loyal supporter of the Opposition and did not spare those who disrespected party leader leader Odinga.
