President Uhuru and opposition chief Raila are set to roll out a countrywide tour following their decision to unite and work together ahead of the 2022 general elections.
After their meeting at Harambee House- Uhuru's official office on March 9, Raila announced that the two will tour the country in unison as they call on Kenyans to bury their political differences and work towards developing the country after a divisive electioneering period late 2017.
Voters in Nyanza region, Raila's political backyard are upbeat about their visit.
Political analysts claim that Uhuru may back Raila's bid to become Kenya's fifth president in 2022 has shifted political tides in the lakeside region and the two top leaders will be received well.
Speculation is rife that calls by Raila and majority of Jubilee leaders for a Constitutional amendment is meant to benefit Raila who they say may vie for the presidency and actually win with the backing of Central Kenya.
If the Constitutional amendment sails through, Uhuru may become the prime minister- managing and running government operations.
Nyanza boycotted the October 26 repeat poll which Raila did not participate but Uhuru's decision to embrace his long-term political rival has cemented his relationship with voters from Nyanza and when he (Uhuru) and Raila visit the region, they may receive overwhelming reception.
