President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday received a report by the Joint Parliamentary Select Committee on IEBC reforms.
The president received the report through the committee's co-chairperson Kiraitu Murungi at State House Nairobi.
The parliamentary committee wound up its work on Monday and filed a report detailing on how electoral reforms will be rolled out as the country prepares to hold elections in 2017.
Among issues the Cord and Jubilee lawmakers constituting the committee agreed on was sending home IEBC commissioners.
The committee also concluded that the number of commissioners be cut from nine to seven.
The new commissioners will be tasked to oversee the 2017 general election.
Cord had accused the current commission of bias in favour of the ruling Jubilee coalition.
The constitution of the committee followed a series of demonstrations led by Cord leaders Raila Odinga (ODM), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) to push for the disbandment of the IEBC.
The State House event came after Mr Odinga received the same report from Cord's joint committee co-chairperson and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
New IEBC commissioners are expected to be sworn in before the end of October.
