President Uhuru Kenyatta has received another major boost ahead of the general elections slated for August 8, 2017.

This is after over 17,000 members of Mau Mau War Veterans Association from Ukambani backed his bid to serve the country's top office for another term.

Led by their chairman Rev Peter Kiiti, the elders said they endorsed the Jubilee Party leader because the ruling coalition development score card was evident in the Ukambani region.

"We have seen massive development projects since President Kenyatta took office four years ago. It is high time for the Kamba community to reciprocate by voting for Jubilee in the August polls," Kiiti said.

He took a swipe at the Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM-K) leader Kalonzo Musyoka, terming him an enemy of development.

Kiiti lamented that the former Vice President has been in government for more than three decades but the Kamba nation had nothing to celebrate for.

"Kalonzo has been in key government positions and has never influenced development projects in this region," he remarked.

He was speaking during a Mau Mau War Veterans Association meeting held at Mwala, Machakos County.

In attendance was Machakos Jubilee Women Representative candidate, Agnes Kavindu Muthama, who urged the Kamba community to support President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

The elders vowed to sensitise their kinsmen to re-elect all Jubilee candidates to ensure continuity of the development projects in the perceived Opposition stronghold.

The Jubilee top leaders are expected to tour Machakos County by the end of this week.
