Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar and his Makueni counterpart, Mutula Kilonzo Jnr said the faulted the president and governors over the manner in which they handled the doctors' strike.

Speaking in Nairobi on Sunday, the two said that they were looking for ways of ending the strike.

This, they said, involved invoking the Senate to intervene and help end the crisis.

"It is shameful for a country to take this long to resolve a crisis in the health sector,” said Mr Omar at a press conference in Nairobi.

They said they support the demand for the implementation of the doctors' CBA.

Mr Kilonzo Jnr said he was ready to offer pro bono legal services to the doctors.

"Parties have acted in bad faith," he said.

"They have demonized doctors and they are threatening to jail them. Doctors are simply saying that they should be paid, not immediately. The CBA should be registered in court as an exhibition of good faith."
