President Uhuru Kenyatta has revealed what his lawyers told him about the full Supreme Court ruling delivered on Wednesday.
Speaking on Thursday, Uhuru said that he was baffled on how his win was squashed with the reason he termed as unsatisfactory.
He said that his team's study of the judgment shows the August 8 poll was annulled using falsified documents.
"We have been informed that due to time constraints, they did not peruse through the volumes of documents that were presented."
The court, in a majority decision by four judges out of six, said the electoral commission committed irregularities and illegalities which affected the poll's results.
He further directed Parliament to look at all the issues raised so as to protect the country against any ambiguity.
"How a decision of that magnitude was arrived at without examination of crucial documents remains a mystery," Uhuru said.
"The Supreme Court, therefore, owes Kenyans an explanation on how such a decision took place."
