Four years ago, President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto agreed to work together as they vied for office in the 2013 election.
The grand unity between the then The National Alliance (TNA) and United Republican Party (URP) took place at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru County.
It’s the same spot where Jubilee party conducted its final rally on Saturday ahead of Tuesday’s election.
While addressing thousands of supporters at the Afraha stadium, President Kenyatta said the current regime stands for unity and togetherness. He stated that their choice of wrapping up their campaigns in Nakuru was an indication that they were out to unite Kenyans since the county is habited by almost all communities in the country.
The head of state said they choose Nakuru as their last host in the campaign spree because they began their Jubilee journey in the populous county and as such the town meant a lot for the Jubilee party.
Nakuru county is among the vote rich counties in the country with an estimated 800,000 registered voters.
The president and his deputy called on Kenyans to vote their administration so that they could take the country to the next level of development having laid the foundations of socio-economic infrastructure in their first term.
