The late Mark Too. [Photo/the-star.co.ke]Jubilee Party has nominated Former nominated MP Mark Too’s daughter Jenny Chebet to the county assembly.
The nomination of Chebet as Uasin Gishu MCA is considered a reward for his father’s loyalty.
She is among the 13 women nominated to join the house from Deputy William Ruto’s home turf.
Speaking after the nomination, Chebet welcomed the move, but she said that she might not fill the gap her father left in the political arena.
The brilliant lady, however, promised to give her best during her days in leadership.
“If I achieve just an iota of what my father did, I will be grateful,” she said, as quoted by Star.
Chebet is among the women who fully backed the re-election of Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and her area MP Oscar Sudi.
Her father was a vocal leader during his days in active politics.
President Uhuru Kenyatta promised to support the family after the demise of Mr. Too.
The lawmaker stepped down to pave way for the nomination of President Uhuru.
Several leaders pledged to support the family including former Nandi Governor Cleophas Lagat who promised to name a street after him.
"We will rename one of our roads in Nandi after Mr. Too as it is where he was born. We are the home of champions and he is one that we have lost," said Dr. Lagat.
