The National Super Alliance (NASA) should focus on selling their manifesto to Kenyans instead of filing many court cases related to the August 8 General Election, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have said.
Speaking during a campaign rally in West Pokot County on Thursday, the Jubilee leaders said the opposition alliance has become a nuisance to the country because of its sustained efforts aimed at subverting next month polls.
“The opposition should stop creating constant bottlenecks through their persistent litigations to sabotage the elections,” said the President.
Ruto challenged the Raila Odinga-led group to go to the grassroots and seek votes from Kenyans instead of wasting their energies fighting court battles.
He criticised NASA for moving to court to challenge the alleged plan by the government to deploy KDF officers in some parts of the country on the election day to prevent violence.
“I now hear that NASA has again gone to court, this time round attacking our security systems. I want to advise them to tell people their agenda because Kenyans will be the ones to decide if they win or lose elections and not the courts,” said DP Ruto, as quoted by Citizen Digital.
In a petition filed at the High Court in Nairobi on Thursday, NASA opposed the plan to deploy KDF officers to areas listed as violence hot spots, citing lack of Parliamentary approval.
