The top leaders will take their re-election campaign to the coastal towns, which are considered opposition strongholds.

The duo will start with a rally in Malindi, before heading to Jomvu as the battle for the 1.7 million coast votes heighten.

The Jubilee team is also expected to tour Tana, River, Lamu, Kwale and Taita Taveta counties in the next three days, as they make inroads in the region with only 22 days remaining.

It will be a busy day for coastal people, with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, a key National Super Alliance (Nasa) kingpin at the coast having also organised a caravan in the county today to consolidate the opposition support.

The area has become a major battle ground as Jubilee leaders make frequent forays to penetrate the region which has in the past voted for the opposition.
