Keen to take control of the port city of Mombasa, President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked the residents of the county to vote for Suleiman Shahbal who is the Jubilee Party candidate in the gubernatorial race.President Kenyatta continued with his onslaught against the incumbent Governor Hassan Joho saying Mombasa has been run down due to poor governance and as such, he (Joho) should be rejected by the residents come August. The President, who was speaking when he re-opened the Mtongwe Ferry channel, said Joho is setting a bad example for Mombasa and urged residents to try the Shahbal-Mwaboza pair in a bid to reclaim the coastal city's lost glory.Poking holes into the ODM deputy party leader's development record, the President asked the Governor to show what he has done for the people of Likoni since he took over office four years ago. He added that instead of working for the people, Joho has been busy engaging in unnecessary political battles with his administration. The President and his Deputy William Ruto have been busy combing through the Coast region launching various development projects in a bid to sway the pro-opposition zone into their fold to springboard their political ambitions.
