Deputy President William Ruto has been forced to go back to the drawing board an sort political duels in his backyard.
This is after Ruto and his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta met a hostile crowd in various parts in the Rift Valley such as Uasin Gishu and Iten.
In Iten, the DP, who was with President Uhuru Kenyatta, was jeered by supporters of Moses Changwony (Independent) as he pushed for a six-piece vote.
The huge crowd that almost filled Iten Sports Grounds shouted down Ruto asking him to stop endorsing JP candidates.Ruto tried to clam the charged crowd in vain.
He said: "We will take care of Changwony, don’t worry about him. We don’t want him (Changwony) to divide our county.""I plead with you to support Tolgos," Ruto said.
Uhuru watched the drama in disbelief. When his time to speak came, the Head of State asked his DP to 'sort out the issue'.
"I have heard that you have small domestic issues here. I leave this to the Deputy President. He will sort out this matter," he said.
