President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto will tour Nyamira County to launch a series of projects on Wednesday since their election to office, County Secretary Erick Onchana has confirmed.
This will be the first official visit to the county even though the duo made stop overs in Keroka and Nyansiongo in 2014 on different occasions.
In an official statement published in the county’s website, Onchana said the President will land in Nyamira Primary before proceeding to Kebirigo market to initiate Keirigo-Mosobeti road.
“The President will be in the county on Wednesday and is expected to launch Kebirigo-Mosobeti road shortly after landing at Nyamira Primary,” read the statement.
“His crew will proceed to Ekerubo Gietai to open a national polytechnic and thereafter will be back to Nyamira town to launch expansion of Nyamira Level 5 Hospital to a Referral level,” added the statement.
President Uhuru and Ruto are again expected to commission Nyangori water project in Kitutu Masaba constituency where they are expected to share platform with outspoken Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire.
“The team will proceed to commission Nyangori water project in Kitutu Masaba which was constructed by World Bank, government of Kenya and the county government of Nyamira,” Onchana wrote.
Kenyatta and Ruto will be hosted by Governor John Nyagarama, MPs, members of county assembly and senior government officials from the county government of Nyamira and on Thursday, the president will be in the neighboring Kisii County.
