A section of legislators have urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto to support Eugene Wamalwa for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2017.

This comes in the wake of the Water cabinet secretary's endorsement for the county's top seat by a segment of Jubilee MPs, and now,leaders from Western now need the  two pioneers of Jubilee coalition to make their stand known.

More than 10 lawmakers and other senior pioneers from the western region met at the cabinet secretary's  Nairobi home at Spring Valley Estate  on Tuesday night, where they concurred that the backing of President Kenyatta will be basic for Wamalwa's governorship offer.

An additional number of at least 30 MCAs from Nairobi County likewise went to the meeting. Various sources who went to the meeting said the legislators made it clear that without the public endorsement of the President and his deputy, Wamalwa ought not to pronounce his candidature.

"In the last General Election, the CS wound up not competing for any position and there was an agreement that the same ought not to happen once more," said the source.
