President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence and encouragement to the families, relatives and friends of those who lost their lives in a road accident that occurred at Kiengu Market in Meru County Friday.
In his message, President Kenyatta said he was deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives through road accidents.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the families, relatives and friends of those who perished in the Friday accident. May the Almighty God give then the strength and grace to bear the tragic loss,” President Kenyatta said.
The accident, involving a goods truck and three other vehicles, occurred along the Maua-Farm-Kinna-Garbatulla road yesterday evening.
The President also wished quick recovery to those who were injured in the accident and are undergoing treatment.
He directed the police to ensure that traffic rules are strictly observed and unroadworthy vehicles are removed from roads to minimise accidents.
