With only five months to General elections, Jubilee administration will be on yet again on a titanic vote hunt mission in vote-rich Gusii region.
Among the goodies lined up to solidify President Uhuru Kenyatta’s dwindling support in the region perceived to be opposition stronghold include a host of infrastructural development projects.
And on Tuesday Kenyatta will be touring Nyamira County before concluding his two-day tour in Gusii at Nyamache grounds on Wednesday.
Inspection of Chepilat-Chabera road, Kemera-Amabuko and opening of Kenyatta dormitory at Nyambaria High will be crowned by a major public rally at Magombo market on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Kenyatta will tour Kisii County and inspect a number of roads initiated by his government before culminating the tour at Nyamache grounds in Bobasi.
Surprisingly, organizers of the two day events have strategically placed Uhuru’s public rallies in remote areas as opposed to traditional town centers.
But Uhuru’s events will not be honoured by opposition MPs who have since dismissed his tour as a mere PR exercise.
“The president is free to visit any parts of the country but should inform local elected leaders regardless of their political affiliations,” said Timothy Bosire of Kitutu Masaba.
“Matters development must have all leaders involved and not party sycophants,” added Charles Geni on North Mugirango.
