Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to apologize to Turkana people following his ‘nasty’ encounter with Governor Josephat Nanok.

Last month, Uhuru dismissed Nanok’s claims of discrimination and accused him of spreading propaganda to ruin his reelection chances.

But on Thursday at Bomas, Rutto, a fierce critic of Jubilee, defended Nanok adding that Jubilee government has isolated marginalized regions.

“Uhuru should apologize to the people of Turkana for insulting their governor in public. We have a right to demand for fairness,” he said.

“Jubilee is anti-devolution and that is why counties are struggling. They hate being told the truth and that is why Kenyatta is always bitter when we address issues,” he added.

And the president may not be stranger in scenarios given his recent public spat with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, whom he promised to ‘teach’ a lesson following similar requests he made at a function when they shared platform.

The ODM deputy party leader faces a career threatening moment given the ongoing investigation of his academic certificates.
