President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday skipped Eldoret town while on his way to the Moi Barracks for a military pass-out parade function after getting information that rival camps for the gubernatorial seat had hired youths to spoil the rally.
Organisers ended up postponing the president's plan to campaign in the town.
The president had been scheduled attend the event by road but chose to fly from the Eldoret State Lodge straight to the Recruits Training College then back to Nairobi.
Also conspicuously away from the event was DP William Ruto, who attended alternative functions elsewhere just like Governor Jackson Mandago.
Mandago and businessman Bundotich Kiprop 'alias Buzeki are in a fierce battle over who takes the Uasin Gishu governor seat.
